Model United Nations (MUN) and Youth Parliament (YP) are educational simulations that engage students in diplomatic and parliamentary processes.


In MUN, an extracurricular activity, students pretend to be delegates in UN committees and discuss and negotiate global issues. Through simulating the operations of the UN, participants hone their research, public speaking, and diplomatic skills. Students are intended to learn about parliamentary procedures and democratic concepts through YP. As in a real parliament, participants participate in debates and discussions that help them learn about civic duties and governance.



This article's goal is to inform and educate readers on the value and advantages of attending YP and MUN conferences. It will highlight how crucial these gatherings are to helping young people develop their critical thinking skills and sense of self.
